Blogging Workshop – what an event!

Wow! I am almost lost for words! We gave our first hands-on workshop at the MDDA yesterday morning. It was designed to be a taster, for the uninitiated, to the wonders of blogging and the feedback so far has been fantastic. In all honesty, I was a little nervous going into the event. Despite having held several seminars before, they were never quite as interactive as the ones we did yesterday – and by providing everybody with a computer, you always run the risk of people getting distracted. But, the enthusiasm for learning was incredible and once everybody was at least a little familiar with the interface (we used blogger for the workshop) people really got into it. Rather than just create blogs for blogs sake, we got everybody thinking about what they were going to write about, the tone with which they were going to write and the audience to whom it was aimed. Ok, so some of the blogs may well be in the virtual waste bin today, but at least people are thinking about the essentials before embarking on a blog launch. Anyway, have a look at the video – and yes, that is a pink shirt I am wearing http://www.vimeo.com/1917422
