Social Media Marketing – One week to go!

Ok so there’s not long to go now until KMP’s Social Media Marketing seminar (25th Feb) takes place at the MDDA in Manchester. dominicsparkesborderWe’ve got some great speakers for this seminar, with Mike Antliff from Huzu and Dominic Sparkes from Tempero presenting for us for the first time, alongside KMP Chairman – Bill Daring! It’’s really exciting to have some new speakers with fresh ideas and opinions speaking at the inblackandwhite seminars. I’ve had a sneak preview of Dominic’s presentation, and all I can tell you is that it promises to be educational, fun and really interesting! Titled, “Extend Buzz – spend less – managing online communities to drive success” (you see it even rhymes!) Dominic is set to discuss the topic of moderation and community management. mikeantliff_borderMike has also given me a little insight into his presentation, which looks to be jammed pack with social media goodness! Covering everything from the evolution of social media, the rise of the web, some of the most influential landmark sites, and highlights of the social media tools and applications contained within, it really promised to be value for money! Bill is set to discuss “PR 2.0 and the Social Media” where he will be presenting the case for social media in PR. Most of the UK’s population is now online – blogging, chatting, visiting message boards and exchanging news and views, and the introduction of web 2.0 and the implications of social networks have encouraged a change in marketing methods. Bill will discuss how we can track, manage and respond to brand buzz online. So, if you’ve not got your tickets yet, where have you been? Luckily for you there are still a few tickets available, so book now!

We look forward to seeing you in 2009!

New – Social Media Workshop

KMP’s next event is a Social Media for Beginners Workshop, which takes place on the 29th January at the MDDA in Manchester. The half-day workshop will be hosted by KMP’s Social Media Expert – Paul Fabretti, alongside Content Strategist, Dave Kinsella. KMP Workshops Paul will be looking at the role of blogging within social media, using case studies to show how blogging can be used as an effective business tool. He’ll also use a case study to help attendees work through the tools and methodologies involved with creating a social media strategy so that attendees can build their own campaign. Dave will be exploring the world of social media and showing you how easy it is to get started with the different social media tools that are available, including social networks, photo-sharing sites, video and blogs. Already proving to be popular with companies such as The Co-operative, United Utilities and Wales Millennium Centre signed up, there are only a few places left for this complete guide to Social Media. Craig McGinty – The interview

Following the success of KMP’s Blogging Workshop, inblackandwhite.tv caught up with Craig to bring you an exclusive interview with the man himself! http://www.vimeo.com/2463615 In this video, Craig gives a brief introduction about himself and the work that he does, as well as discussing the purpose of the Blogging Workshops. As this is the second workshop that KMP has hosted, we wanted to find out where Craig’s enthusiasm for blogging stems from and why he sees blogging as such a valuable marketing tool. Craig also discusses the popular social media tool, “twitter” providing his thoughts on the best definition, as well giving his tips on how to find the best people to follow!

Blogging Workshop Success

Yesterday we partnered with How-Do to hold our second Blogging for Business Workshop at the MDDA in Manchester. http://www.vimeo.com/2438103 Hosted by KMP’s Social Media expert, Paul Fabretti, as well as blogger and journalist, Craig McGinty the workshop was a great success and was enjoyed by everyone who attended. Despite the tricky weather conditions in Manchester after all the snow and ice, we were pleased to see that we had a 100% turnout for the second time.  There were representatives from a great variety of companies, including Kelloggs, SKV PR, the Co-operative Bank, and Superbreak Mini Holidays to name a few! Paul did a great job of hosting the workshop, starting off with an introduction to the background of blogging and using some case studies of how companies like Dell, Starbucks and General Motors have used blogs effectively.  In the second half of the workshop, Craig and Paul guided attendees step by step through the process of setting up a blog and how to write posts. KMP’s next event will be a Social Media for Beginners Workshop, which takes place on the 29th January in Manchester.
